ISABELLA
One night of passion.
It was meant to remain a memory, one unbridled moment of forbidden bliss.
However, it quickly transformed into so much more.
I wanted something deeper and that’s exactly what he gave me.
I’ve been engulfed into his world of secrets, thrust into the new reality I begged for.
Now, I live him… breathe him… crave him.
I’ve been taught, trained, completely owned by him.
Everything between us has changed.
But will it be enough for Adam?
Will it be enough for me?
ADAM
I swore this line was one I’d never cross with her.
I vowed our relationship, the one we were never supposed to have, would remain untainted.
Untainted by my cravings… my desires… untainted by me.
But things with her are different.
Isabella’s changed everything.
Isabella’s changed me.
She’s given me her submission and, in the process, scaled every wall I’ve built around myself.
Can I shield her from the dark sides of my reality?
And if I can’t, will I be enough to make her stay?

The bright light from the sun through my closed eyes dims, and I slowly open them. They widen when I see something hovering over me. Not something, but someone. A woman. A woman with brunette hair that floats around her. Her eyes, the color of bright amber, stare at me dolefully.
She’s about five feet above me, her body longways to match my horizontal position. She seems to be in a spectral form. She’s in front of me but not fully there. Her white sleeveless dress drifts around her legs.
She’s pretty. No, not pretty. Devastatingly gorgeous.
Not understanding why I do it, I lazily smile up at her. She smiles back, but it fades seconds later, and her eyes take on a dead look. The first sharp stab pierces my chest, and I suck in a breath at the sudden pain.
“Where are you, Luca?” the woman whispers, her lips barely moving. “I’m waiting for you.”
Her hand reaching toward me and the desperate pleading in her eyes paralyze me. I want to reach out and grasp her, to pull her to me and demand she tell me what’s wrong, but for some reason I can’t. I’m frozen; the only part of my body moving is my chest as I breathe heavily.
What in the ever-lovin’ hell?
“Tell me your name,” I force out through gritted teeth. Even moving my lips is strenuous, but something tells me I need to know her name.
Instead of answering me, her arm goes back to her side. Tears glisten in her eyes and her expression turns sad once again.
A second stinging pain lances my chest, and I flinch.
“I need you. Please, please, help me.”
“I don’t understand.” The growled words rumble from my tight throat. “How do I help you?”
She stays silent as she looks at me with her solemn golden eyes.
All I can do is lie there and look at her as she gets closer and closer. Her wraithlike appearance allows me to see the trees above us through her body, but as she draws nearer, her features become more clear. She has a small scattering of freckles across her cheeks. She also has the beginning of small indents in her cheeks that suggests dimples if she were to smile.
My body tenses even further when she doesn’t stop and keeps floating toward me. Her eyes don’t change, and she doesn’t try to touch me. She’s only inches from me now, and my chest tightens the closer she gets.
Painful breath rushes from my lungs when all of a sudden her eyes close and an agonizing scream escapes her lips. Not a second later, she bursts into a thousand tiny flashes of bright light, her scream still echoing around me. The small fragments fall, and it’s like some magnetic force inside me is drawing them into my body. Each piece that penetrates is more excruciating than the last…

The Blessing

THE BLESSING

The Colorado Series Book 1

by Lizzie Lee

Genre: Romantic Erotica

Cover Designer: Jada D’Lee

After years of drifting, Trevor Warren’s world comes crashing down with the news of his brother’s death. Returning to his hometown in Evergreen, Colorado for his brother and sister-in-law’s funerals, Trevor realizes he has but a moment to grieve before his nephew, Greyson, is thrust into his life. Becoming the legal guardian to Greyson will either be a blessing or a curse. His late brother, Dean, was the golden child—the perfect son, husband, and father—while Trevor was his polar opposite. Despite his rough past, Trevor pulls his life together to become the father Greyson deserves. Although he tries to be a better man, he never feels like he’s good enough… especially for his neighbor, Veronica Clark.

Veronica “Ronnie” Clark is the picture of maturity and success. Despite having her life together, she’s always felt as if something was missing. From the moment she saw Trevor, she knew he was trouble wrapped in a sinfully attractive package. While she would usually shy away from men like Trevor—something about his rugged appearance captivated her. His handsome face, gorgeous ink, and wounded aura may have caught her attention, but it’s his giving heart that kept her yearning for more.

“You think Ronnie likes me, little guy?” I ask Grey as if he could give me a valid response.

He babbles something, cocks his head to the side, and begins to laugh. Fuck, even the kid doesn’t think Ronnie and I could ever work out. As I park outside our apartment building, I give myself a mental pep talk. You can do this, Trevor. She’s just a hot chick you’re interested in. She’s offered you her friendship so take what you can get.

I’ve considered talking to my dad about her, but I decided against it because I thought it’d be pretty awkward. What would I say? “Dad, I think I’ve met the right girl for me. She’s perfect, but I’ve only just met her, and I’ve talked to her a handful of times. What do you think I should do? How do you know if a girl’s right for you?” I cringe at the thought of a conversation like that. And what if it didn’t work out? How uncomfortable would that be? My dad would ask about her and I would have to tell him that she found a guy who’s accomplished and clean cut, the type of guy girls usually go for. Yeah, that’s a conversation with my dad that’s never going to happen.

I try to keep my head filled with positive thoughts as I slide out of my ride and pop open Grey’s door to get him out of his car seat. As I’m unbuckling him, I look through the cab window of my truck to find Ronnie standing by, what I assume is, her Jeep, chatting up some tall blonde guy. What the hell? I can’t help but feel somewhat… betrayed. Which is absolutely ridiculous considering she isn’t mine. I pull Grey from his seat and hold him close to my chest. The feel of his breath on my neck comforts my psyche. I step away from my truck to get a better look at Ronnie and the douchebag she’s talking to. I shouldn’t call him a douchebag. This guy could be her brother for all I know. However, with his blonde hair and tall build, as opposed to Ronnie’s wild brunette curls and petite frame, they couldn’t look less alike. She laughs at something he says, before their conversation comes to a close and they say their goodbyes. He bends down to give her a hug and I nearly lose it. Get your hands off of her, fucker! If I wasn’t holding my infant nephew, I would’ve marched right over there and broken the couple apart. Christ, I’m turning into a fucking Neanderthal over here.

The blonde jackass walks away and gets into his car, leaving Ronnie all alone by her Jeep. She turns in my direction and I jump behind my truck—ducking down like a coward. Play it cool, Trevor. She doesn’t even know you’re here. I didn’t see a hint of recognition on her face when I ducked, so her looking in my general direction must have been a coincidence. Just when I think I’m in the clear, Grey squeals so loudly I’m sure the entire complex could hear him. I cringe at the sound and wish I could just fucking vanish into thin air. She doesn’t need to know I was spying on her. Hell, if she wasn’t out here talking to some guy, I would’ve just gone about my business.

“Trev?” I hear her sweet voice question as she approaches my truck.

Not wanting to look like a complete jackass hiding behind his truck like a coward, I grab the pizza with my free hand, trying to look as if I were fishing for it in the backseat. When she’s in my line of sight, I take a step back from the truck, kick the door shut, and give her one of my best crooked grins, praying it doesn’t come across like an awkward grimace.

“How’s it going, Trev? I didn’t even see you over here.” She sounds casual and completely unaffected by what I could’ve possibly witnessed. Maybe that was her brother, after all. If it was a date, wouldn’t she feel uncomfortable right about now?

“It’s all good now that I’m off work.” I pause for a moment, shifting uncomfortably on my feet. “You want to come up to my place and have dinner with us? We were just going to veg out on the couch, watch some movies, and eat pizza.”

“That sounds good. I was just planning on ordering take-out and watching reality TV,” she says as she follows me toward the steps of our building. Grey is animated in my arms, babbling to her the entire way. As soon as we reach the steps, Ronnie stops and says, “I can take Grey if you want. I don’t want you to drop the pizza.” She’s teasing me. I like it when she teases me.

I hand her Grey, who is more than happy to be passed off. I suppose he prefers being in the arms of a beautiful woman as opposed to being carried by his smelly uncle, who’s covered in dirt. He immediately begins running his hands through her long hair and smiles brightly at her as if he knew he was the cutest thing in the fucking world. I roll my eyes and snort as I realize I’m jealous of my nephew. He’s touching Ronnie and I’m holding a fucking pizza.

“He’s a giant flirt,” I tell her as we make it to the final flight of stairs. “I can’t imagine what he’s going to be like when he’s a teenager.” If he’s going to turn out anything like me, I’m going to have to give him the “sex talk” pretty early. With the way he’s looking at Ronnie, at least I know the kid’s going to grow up to have amazing taste. She’s innocence and sin all mixed into one delicious package.

“I’m sure you’ll have plenty of girlfriends, Greyson,” Ronnie says with a giggle as she watches my little guy play with her hair.

Unable to help myself, I peek down her sweater as she gambols up the last few steps. Well, I’m going to need to excuse myself the second we get inside. Maybe she’ll watch the baby while I take a quick shower. I unlock the door to my apartment and kick it open, ushering Ronnie inside. She’s rocking Grey and barely takes any time to look at her surroundings. Which is good, considering my apartment is nothing compared to hers.

When the allure of the forbidden takes a deadly turn…
Shaye
He never cared about me. He never would. He was always on the take, but this time he took too much.
I betrayed my family tonight. I lost my virginity tonight. I was ready to give it all up tonight.
I loved him, and he treated me like I was no better than the dirt on the bottom of his Louboutin loafer. Big mistake. One thought makes me smile through the hot tears streaming down my face.
I could have him killed.
Nico
I only wanted to f*ck her. I tried to convince myself that’s all it was. But I’m a damn liar. I lied to myself about how I feel, and I lied to her when I told her I wanted her to leave.
I didn’t. I wanted her…no, needed her…to stay.
Now I’m dodging calls from her maniacal brother, who, if he found out I’d so much as seen her in that sexy as hell lingerie, would wrap his beefy hands around my throat and squeeze until my eyeballs popped out of the sockets.
Kristen Luciani is a USA Today bestselling author and momtrepreneur with a penchant for stilettos, Silicon Valley, plunging necklines and grapefruit martinis. As a deep-rooted romantic who prefers juicy drama to fill the lives of anyone other than her, she tried her hand at creating a world of enchantment, sensuality, and intrigue, finally uncovering her true passion. Let Me Know When It’s Live–>https://bit.ly/2HBu3th
You have a lot of responsibilities now, Nico.
My grandfather’s voice drifts back into my conscious. I’d love to have a few more minutes with him to figure out why the hell he ever got involved with this shit in the first place.
I want it all, but can I have it all? That’s the magic question, one I have yet to answer for myself. Seems like any direction I go will lead to a dead end. And someone’s gonna have the barrel of a gun pointed directly at me.
Shaye is right. I love what I do. I love having the freedom to make decisions, to build businesses from scratch and watch the money pour into them as time passes. I love having people at my beck and call, people who are anxious to do me favors because they sense the power and control I have — things that they want for themselves, things they know I can provide them. I love knowing that I can do whatever I please and get whatever I want at any time. I’ve worked my ass off for those privileges, and they don’t come cheap. I’ve done my time. I’ve watched and learned. I’ve been groomed for this position. People put a lot of trust and faith in my ability to make them money, and I never disappoint.
But despite everything I’ve achieved, I know there’s always someone lurking, positioned to pull the rug out from under me because he thinks he can do it better. I pay for protection, just as my father does, but that doesn’t mean someone else’s money isn’t just as green. Loyalty is fleeting. If someone comes along with a grand plan and a hell of a lot of cash behind him, my good looks and charm won’t be able to protect my position for too long.
Grandpa made sure to keep me front and center, letting everyone know, in no uncertain terms, that his protégé would eventually carry on his legacy. But for as strong as I appear to be, I know I’m vulnerable. We all are. All it takes is one bullet and someone with a motive.

Technically Married_FINAL!

BLURB

Their love always sizzled but after a misunderstanding, it suddenly fizzled. What drove them apart might just be what brings them back together again.

Max is a good guy. He’s rich, handsome, smart and normal. Things are getting pretty serious between us but there’s a problem—technically, I’m already married to a starving artist rock star wannabe.

When my former best friend invited me to her celebrity bridal shower, I went mainly out of curiosity. When she asked me to be her maid of honor though, I wanted to run for the hills. If I didn’t need my estranged husband to sign those divorce papers, I actually would have.

Instead of giving me a divorce, he gave me something else. The truth about the ending of our marriage.

Suddenly, my life with Max doesn’t seem so appealing. The rock star I had run from for all those years is suddenly the man who’s awakened something in me—something I thought had died a long time ago. And damnit, it feels frickin’ amazing!

EXCERPT

You know that queasy feeling in your gut that’s like butterflies and fish are wrestling with each other? That’s how I feel every time I look at Jay. I get all hot under my skin and I want to tear my eyeballs out and rip my nails off one by one. I think its the anger and resentment that still lingers. It’s not because I still think he’s a rock star sex God or anything. Really. Shit. This is why we can’t be in the same room with each other.

As soon as Julia broke away from our hug and went to greet him, I ran to the bar and got myself a stiff drink, then headed to the small podium that housed the jazz quartet just in time to hear the bass player’s solo. He was an older man, probably in his late fifties, and played an upright bass like it was going out of style. His fingers danced along the neck, intricately plucking note after note. He grooved with the slight ting ting of the drummer’s cymbal perfectly in time. Man, they were good.

Watching musicians sort of made me nostalgic for my rock star days. I hadn’t picked up an instrument in years and I probably wouldn’t know what to do with a bass guitar anymore. Not that I ever did. That was the beauty of punk music—you don’t actually need to know how to play. As long as you have the balls to get up on stage, scream about something and pluck a few strings, you’re good. I can’t say that I would ever be a musician again but I do miss the freedom to create whatever and whenever I wanted. Corporate life has done alright by me, but it didn’t leave much room for creativity.

“Nice to see you crawled out of your cubicle,” a voice said behind me. Shivers ran up and down my spine like a thousand spiders being set loose. That voice. That deep, drawling voice. Damn it, why did I agree to come?

“Nice to see you crawled out of your trashcan,” I replied. “Would’ve been nice of you to shower, though. I could smell you across the yard.”

“Typical,” the voice spat at me.

“Can you just let me enjoy the music for like five minutes?” To his credit, he shut his pie hole long enough for the bass solo to finish. We both clapped as the band resumed the song. We were the only two who watching them and they smiled at us, appreciative of our attention.

“So, where’s wonder-geek? Or do they prefer the term nerd? I can never get that right,” Jay sneered.

“Look at you making fun of smart, rich guys. You’re so cool,” I drawled. Man, this was seriously getting old. “I’m actually glad you’re here.”

“Oh, really? Geekazoid not doing it for you these days? You need some marital attention?”

“Don’t be gross. I need you to sign the divorce papers. For real, this time.” I was pretty impressed at how steady that came out because I could feel my vocal chords vibrating.

“Oh yeah. Sure. I guess its been long enough. You’ve moved on, I’ve moved on…”

“You’ve moved on?” I don’t know why it came out like I was surprised. Why did I suddenly cared so much? We’ve been estranged for years. I was sort of happy with Max and Jay deserved to be sort of happy with someone too. I guess. I don’t know why the thought of him being with someone else suddenly filled me with blind rage. What was wrong with me?

His lips curled up into a small, sneaky smile. “Her name is Dianna. Why do you care, anyways? You’ve got yourself a nerd-king.”

I took a deep breath and pushed whatever feelings were surfacing back to wherever they came from. “I don’t care. Just sign the papers before you leave, okay?”

“Yes, sir,” he said and saluted me. I rolled my eyes as far as they would go into the back of my head and walked away. There wasn’t a drink stiff enough to drown out how irritating that man could be. I ordered a shot of whiskey from the bartender and headed for the table of food. Maybe stuffing my face with something fried would help block him out.

The table didn’t seem to be missing a single piece of food except the few fried cabbage sticks I ate earlier. I didn’t see anyone else eating either and I was starting to get self-conscious. I mean, Max had taken me to fancy parties with important people before, but even they picked at the mini quiches that always floated around. I guess that’s just life in Hollywood—no one is caught dead eating in public. Whatever. I picked up another one of the fried cabbage things and shoved them in my mouth.

“You should try one of these things,” Jay said from behind me. He was holding up a small, red pepper stuffed with shredded something. It looked good. I wanted one but I didn’t want to give him the satisfaction of enjoying what he suggested.

“What’s wrong with you? Why can’t you leave me alone?”

“What? I’m hungry. I do live off of scraps from a trashcan, after all,” he said. His lips curled into a smug smile as he bit into the pepper. That was all I needed. I felt something snap inside of me and without thinking, I raised my hands and shoved him in the chest. Hard. Really hard. He fell back into the table behind him and crashed onto a large, three-tier caked.

“What the hell?” he yelled and picked up what was left of the top layer of the cake and threw it at me, hitting me right in the face. Icing and butter cream dripped off of me as I stood there stunned.

A moment that felt like an eternity filled the air. The band stopped playing, everyone stopped talking and I’m pretty sure I heard a collective gasp. I stood there, starring at Jay. Anger filled every part of me but then I remembered that I was at a party. Julia’s party. Julia’s bridal shower with a bunch of fancy Hollywood people around. I looked up and there she was, standing by the broken table with her feet surrounded by desserts. I gave her a horrified look and said a silent I’m sorry but she just stood there, stone faced.

A huge fan of authors like Chuck Palahniuk and Sophie Kinsella, she spent much of her days daydreaming of being an author while failing hard as a reporter and production artist for a small town newspaper before taking the plunge and writing her first book, Technically Scripted.

When she’s not writing, she’s playing drums in a noisy synth-pop band with her rock star husband, annoyingly taking pictures of everything, drinking coffee or watching an obscene amount of television.
